BlueSky Finds the Perfect MDR Partner for a Home Builder
A home builder and real estate client, frustrated with an underperforming MSP, turned to BlueSky IT Partners to find a superior MDR provider for their Microsoft stack. Challenge: his client was looking for an MDR/XDR provider to support their Microsoft stack. Their current MSP was under performing by lack of timely response to cyber-attacks, and minimal data available from monthly activity or breaches. The client’s IT team was remediating and reporting the attacks to the vendor. In addition, there was no proactive sharing for best practices, industry incidents, or cyber trends. It was clearly not a partnership. The decision on a new provider needed to be made quickly, as their current contract expired in 6 months.
Engagement: BlueSky had seen this specific issue with other clients and was prepared to assist to align the “right” MDR provider. We first gathered their specific requirements and current infrastructure and cloud assets. The client and BlueSky discussed what “good” looks like in a partner and clarified the decision criteria and timelines. After this review, BlueSky identified 5 potential vendors who aligned with these criteria. BlueSky coordinated meetings and portal demos, and created and sent each vendor the RFI document. In roughly 4 weeks, we completed 2 rounds of vendor meetings, reviewed the RFI responses and pricing, and determined the winner.
Outcome:The client’s chosen MDR partner exceeded their expectations in every category. They had full access to the client portal with real-time data, weekly updates and QBRs, a dedicated team in the NOC who was proactive and communicative, identifying issues and sharing in minutes. We also completed the project, including installation, testing and training with 3 weeks to spare. The time saved by BlueSky, and expertise in running the project, were the key elements that made this a huge win for the client.
