Houston Texans’ cornerback, Kareem Jackson, hosted his first annual Tee Up with Texans at the TopGolf Houston-Katy with the event raising $74,000 for the Kareem Jackson Foundation which looks to provide opportunities and resources to families with children battling cancer and women battling breast cancer.
Jackson was joined by teammates, JJ Watt, Johnathan Joseph and more than a dozen more, as they traded in their helmets and uniforms for clubs and tees as they become celebrity golfers for the evening full of point-scoring golf games alongside fans and foundation supporters. Drew Daugherty from Texans TV served as emcee while guests enjoyed drinks, great food, fun golf games, and exciting auctions.
“This is a cause near and dear to my heart with my sister and mother both cancer survivors,” said Jackson. “I am so thankful to all those who came out to support me and the Foundation.”
Proceeds from the event will go to fund programming for the Kareem Jackson Foundation. There are two marquee programs launching later this year. The Pretty in Pink luncheon will honor women who are battling and those who have achieved victory over breast cancer with VIP treatment. Also the Foundation will be hosting Christmas in July which will provide patients and their siblings with an unexpected special day to lift spirits. Each July, Kareem will partner with one of Houston’s Children’s Hospitals and a team of elves to pass out gifts to those in need.
